Dorthe Skappel (58) celebrates 25 years on television by inviting viewers to the most intimate.
The host of “Good Evening Norway” is known for volunteering. When he underwent gallstone surgery in January last year, he shared photos of his hospital bed and bandaged stomach.
Now he takes it even further. In the miniseries “Dorthe Skappel 25 Years on the Screen” (TV 2 Sumo), viewers become part of Dorthe’s bedroom, the hospital, and delve deeper into anesthesia, as well as later awakening.
– I don’t know if I would do the same again, but it was also fun, says Dorthe laughing at VG.
The presenter shows, among other things, the gallbladder and all the stones that the doctor scrapes away.
– This was to give people a little glimpse of everything that happens in life. Since it has become so popular to bid for myself, I thought I would do the same.
Dorthe still admits that it was a strange experience.
– Basically, I’m quite reserved, but I was not scared when we filmed. I work with these people every day so I was safe.
But Dorthe says he was surprised when he saw the finished episodes.
– I thought sir, is this how I look? Like a ruin? But this is how we are all on that stage. Before this, he had been in so much pain that he wasn’t sure if he would be able to travel and conduct interviews.
Viewers can watch Dorthe lie down at home in bed and writhe in pain.
– Exactly this was a bit strange to film. These sharp attacks were indescribably painful. I thought I was terminally ill, he says.

– The gallbladder has a function, so I was worried about what might happen. But the doctor assured me that I could live well without a gallbladder.
Today he is absolutely fine, without any ailment, and he thanks the health service for the help he received.
– What about that gallstone glass you shake in the episode? Where is he now?
– I got rid of that. I had the stones for a while, but came to the conclusion that there must be limits to how much gravel you should have lying around. So It wasn’t exciting, he says and laughs.
Dorthe had mixed feelings when he was told last year that “Good evening Norway” should be renewed and that he should share the job with Marte Bratberg (31) and Niklas Baarli (31).
– Receive two new presenters and hug them with open arms, you have not naked it has been easy. It’s hard to give up space or its space, as I do initially, says on television.

Dorthe assures VG that he feels better today than ever.
– It was the right move to do what they did. We are all interchangeable and I haven’t seen a change for the worse yet. But yeah, I still think he’s a bit stingy. What are these two tits doing on “Good Evening Norway”? he asks jokingly.
– After all these years on television, what is left for you to do that you have not been involved in?
– Nothing. I feel like I’ve done it all and I’m proud and happy about it.
