Each year, the rates for Nav benefits are adjusted upwards based on the so-called base amount (G). This normally happens on May 1, but this year the government decided to postpone it until this fall.
On September 1 and 2, the liquidation of social security was completed, which is now ready. Among other things, the pensioners union is not satisfied with the social security arrangement and notes that pensions have been regulated below inflation in five of the last six years.
Based on the social security settlement, it has also been decided what the new rate for the basic amount will be.

The government writes in a press release that the basic amount in the National Insurance Plan will increase by 1.5 percent from NOK 99,858 to NOK 101,351 as of May 1, 2020. A salary increase of 1.7 percent it is the basis of regulation.
Now that the rate for the base amount is ready, several benefit recipients will receive postpayment from May until now, as payments should have been calculated according to a new rate from May inclusive.
When will the arrears come?
