Home Office, Nemko | Nemko’s top executives don’t believe in a home office as a durable solution

There is no doubt that productivity is declining in home offices, according to senior managers at the Norwegian company Nemko.

– The home office with video conferencing can be a nice addition, but there is no substitute for physical meetings, CFO Aqsa Butt tells E24.

Butt says they notice that communication has become more rigid and informal dialogue has been reduced after several months with only digital interaction.

Nemko is a Norwegian-owned group with 500 employees and 20 overseas offices, where they conduct security testing and certification of electronic products. Only around 100 employees work in Norway.

– There is no doubt that productivity decreases in home offices and exclusively digital meetings if not organized properly, and here companies have been involved in participating in the bill of the solidarity event, says the CFO.

CEO Per Ove Øyberg says head office is not here to stay.

– Recently, we have experienced that the home office is a challenge for everyone. Much attention has been paid to the fact that this is difficult for the employees, but this situation is also a great challenge for the managers of the company, says the CEO.
