Strømsgodset – Bodø / Glimt 1-2
The case is being updated!
Bodø / Glimt is the 2020 Elite Series winner with five games to play. It became clear after they defeated Strømsgodset on Sunday night. Neither team can catch up with Bodø / Glimt on points now.
Kjetil Knutsen and his team have written history with the club’s first league gold. It is also the first time that a Northern Norwegian club has taken gold in the Elite Series. They previously won silver four times, most recently in the 2019 season.
– This is a completely new feeling. I am dazzled by the champagne. It’s strange, I’m a bit empty right now, but it’s great, says Ulrik Saltnes on TV 2 after the game.
Overtime free kick pearl sent Tromsø to Elite Series
– We decided last year that we should go straight. Nobody expected Bodø / Glimt to do it, but we did. We all win for the first time, coach Kjetil Knutsen tells Eurosport after the game.
Measure after four minutes
Bodø / Glimt has had an impressive season and currently stands at 68 points and 22 wins out of 25 possible so far.
It was only four minutes before captain Kasper Junker scored the first goal of the night. The scoreboard was the Dane’s 19th so far this season.
However, the home team was on the score sheet and Lars Jørgen Salvesen jumped forward, among other things, with a header from a good position in the seventh minute. There could have been scores that way too.
However, it was the other super Dane from Bodø / Glimt who got the next acquaintance online. After 2 minutes of play, Philip Zinckernagel hit the ball into the 18-meter legs. He carefully arranged it before tossing it into the far corner.
TV 2 expert praises the technical team: – They should have all possible honors.
The farm kept the fight alive
– I am happy that we are leading 2-0, but I honestly think we have a bit of luck. We create a climate that does not suit us. It will be a yo-yo match and many back and forth games. More pace and more Bodø / Glimt as we know them, I want that in the second half, head coach Kjetil Knutsen told Eurosport during the break.
In the second half, it was largely Glimt who continued to control the match. However, they never felt completely comfortable and a Strømsgodset in the place of the play-offs made their way into the match. It was exciting when Valdimar Ingimundarson cut for the home team six minutes before regulation, but it was with a goal from Godset.
