This article is over a month old and may contain outdated advice from authorities on coronary heart disease.

Stay up to date on the NRK overview or on the FHI website.

– This is a valuable item and we must ensure that everything benefits those in need. It would be sad if we missed some of these doses, says Sjukehusapoteka Vest director Christer Bakke Frantzen.

He is responsible for the arrival of the coronary vaccine to western Norway and Bergen.

And the arrival is characterized by secrecy and strict security.

Haukeland Hospital will keep a secret where the vaccine is shipped and will be stored.

1460 doses in first load

Initially, there are 292 cups containing 1,460 doses that now arrive in Bergen and will be distributed throughout western Norway.

The plane with the vaccines landed at Bergen Flesland airport shortly before 9 a.m. on Tuesday. The plane arrived from Copenhagen via Stavanger.

Explain

When and how do we Norwegians get vaccinated against the crown?

for answers

Vaccination began on December 27, when Svein Andersen (67) received Norway’s first coronary vaccine.

How is the vaccination done?

Those who are offered a vaccine will be contacted.

You get one dose first, then another dose after three weeks.

The vaccine is voluntary and free.

Who gets vaccinated first?

Seniors get first, those living in nursing homes take priority. I saw those over 64, as well as younger people who have underlying diseases. Then the health professionals.

Before Easter, the plan is to vaccinate 70% of the people in the risk group. It is up to Norway getting enough vaccine doses for this.

How do I know if I am being prioritized and if I am getting the vaccine?

Your GP or municipality will contact you.

If you are not in the risk group, you will probably be offered a vaccination between Easter and summer.

There are different vaccines. Can I choose which one I want?

Health authorities decide on the basis of which vaccines are available and which are the most suitable for different groups.

If I am not offered the vaccine, can I get it if I pay for it myself?

No, it is not possible to buy in advance in the queue.

What about the side effects?

Authorities have promised to be open about any side effects when they receive information about it. So far, during testing, no serious side effects have been reported in the vaccines that are most relevant to Norway.

This is how the vaccine works:

Although unloading the plane appeared to be a routine task for the ground crew at the airport, the Flesland employees made no secret that the atmosphere was special and joyous.

– It’s good that the vaccines finally reach Bergen. Now there is light in the tunnel and hopefully we will soon be able to return to normal society, says department director Kay Sjøstrand at Aviator at Bergen airport.

The vaccine will now go through customs at the airport. It will then be transported to Haukeland University Hospital, where it will be stored in a secret location.

Secret

The vaccine is expected to arrive in Haukeland around 12 noon.

– We do not want to enter exactly where it will be stored. There are also precautions around transportation and shipping that allow us to ensure safety in the best possible way, says Frantzen.

Another reason is that the vaccine requires special storage conditions.

– Must be stored at -70 degrees before shipping to those who will use it. So we want to avoid waste, says Frantzen.

GO DIRECTLY: Go straight until 1 pm, when a press conference is held and when the vaccine arrives at Haukeland Hospital.

Waiting for more deliveries

Later today, management at Haukeland University Hospital will provide more information about the vaccine and how it is stored, according to communications director Erik Vigander.

The corona vaccine that is now being introduced in Norway has been developed by Pfizer / BioNTech and was formally approved for use in Norway and the EU countries on December 21. The first 10,000 doses arrived in Norway on the second day of Christmas.

The next day the first doses were set. Svein Andersen (67) at Ellingsrudhjemmet in Oslo was the first in Norway to receive the coronary vaccine.

According to Frantzen, more deliveries of the vaccine are expected during the first and second quarters of 2021.

– Later, hopefully there will also be access to other vaccines from other manufacturers, if approved, says Frantzen.
