On Friday night, health adviser Robert Steen in Oslo informed Dagbladet that they see the need for stricter measures on infection control measures starting next week.

– We are in close dialogue with national authorities to assess what new measures may be more effective in stopping the increase we have seen in infection. Although we are in the process of a gradual and controlled reopening of Oslo, we have been clear that measures will fluctuate with the infection situation, Steen tells Dagbladet and continues:

– As the situation is now, we see the need to put more emphasis on measures early next week. We will return to what it really becomes.

The municipality of Oslo informs Dagbladet that on Sunday they will hold a press conference on the status of the crown and infection control measures. It was Avisa Oslo who first announced that the press conference will take place already on Sunday.

Growing infection

231 new cases of infection were registered on Thursday, a significantly higher number than the number seen in Oslo in recent weeks. The spread of the infection has been increasing since the municipality of Oslo decided to facilitate the measures last week.

– We have recently seen a recovery from the infection. It affects the entire city and both young and old. We are concerned about the growing infection now, especially since many people probably have the mutated virus. Oslo has the strictest measures in the country, we’ve had them for a long time and we will continue to do so, says Steen.

Effort

The Norwegian Board of Health emphasizes that it is the efforts of each individual who contributes to influencing the spread of infection in Oslo.

– We must continue to avoid public transport and unnecessary travel, we must work from the home office if we have the opportunity to do so and we must wash our hands, keep our distance, and wear bandages. These simple measures, which we all know well by now, are incredibly effective.
