He thundered the superstar after the monster accident:

The Formula 1 round in Tuscany on Sunday was unusually dramatic.

First, two of the sport’s big stars have already vanished in the first round – Red Bull driver Max Verstappen and Monza GP winner Pierre Gasly (Alpha-Tauri) – out of the race after minor crashes.

But it was what happened after the safety car was on the track that really set minds on fire.

When the race was about to start again, it ended with a chain collision from which five more drivers escaped.

Romain Grosjean (Haas) escaped with an emergency call, but was not late to share the blame after the big explosion. He put it mainly on the shoulders of the man who got on first: Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas.

– It was a damn idiocy of the one who was the first. Will they kill us or what? It’s the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life, Romain Grosjean shouted on the delay radio after the big bang.

Exploited the rules

The rules are such that after the Safety Car has left the track, it will not be able to pass until it crosses the starting line.

The reason for the rage is that Bottas took his time, zigzagged to warm up the tires and didn’t accelerate until he got close to the line.

At the back of the field, positioning was carried out and some got too excited about the porridge. When one sped a bit too much throttle, they were tricked at the rear of the field into stepping on the pedal as well, as they don’t have an overview of what’s happening up front.

There were sudden braking, evasive maneuvers and the accordion effect on the field meant that someone did not have time to stop in time. Hence the giant explosion.

– We already handled what we had. We saw that it was green, but suddenly I saw two cars stop in front of me. It was a really dangerous maneuver of the first, says Alfa Romeo driver Antonio Giovinazzi.

– This is something you have to think about. Hopefully everyone is fine, but the next time it happens it can be dangerous.

I want a ban

He has the support of Vsports Formula 1 commentator Atle Gulbrandsen:

– Here I think there will be a rule change. This must be prohibited. The person in front cannot be allowed to drive like this. It’s too great a risk, says Gulbrandsen.

Giovinazzi was one of those who dropped out of the race, after failing to dodge Danish Kevin Magnussen (Haas). Along with Carlos Sainz and Nicolas Latifi, Magnussen had to break.

It was more exhausting for the Dane who had gotten off to a good start to the race, after avoiding the disturbances at the start.

– Yes, annoying. That was the last thing we needed, says Magnussen in an interview shown on V Sport 1.

– Bottas probably tried to keep speed down to the starting line. It keeps speed completely low to minimize traction so you can avoid being overtaken. Then there are some who drive too early and then push it behind. When Williams’ car stops, I have to drive to the side. Then I crash.

The reason for Bottas’ choice to run in a zigzag for as long as possible was seen when the race started again.

Almost immediately he was overtaken by his teammate Lewis Hamilton.

The race continues with the two Mercedes magnificently in the lead.
