Ken Roger Dalen (43) tells the life of his little brother Tor Henning, the 39-year-old who died after being shot by the police in Bolkesjø in Telemark.
– Dad called me on Tuesday and gave me the message: Tor Henning was shot and killed by the police. The sheriff and the priest had been with him, a deeply influenced Ken Roger Dalen tells VG.
– I do not know what to say.
The 43-year-old from Gransherad in Telemark is the older brother of Tor Henning Dalen, 39, who died Tuesday after police shot him at his Bolkesjø home in Telemark.
Police left the house armed after being notified of what they describe as a threatening situation. An officer fired several shots and Tor Henning Dalen’s life could not be saved.

Mother and brother lost in 2011
They were three brothers who grew up with their mother and father in Gransherad in Telemark. Ken Roger talks enthusiastically about cycling, fishing and soccer in the summer, but he doesn’t hide the fact that there have been tough times that he doesn’t want to get into.
In 2011, the family lost their mother after complications with an operation. Eight months later, the older brother also died.
– We were all affected by this. Tor Henning was in daily contact with his mother and adored her. He protected her and took good care of her. The three brothers also had a wonderful relationship. We talk a lot and have a good time, says Ken Roger.
– The car shop was the rescue.
The older brother says Tor Henning has had mental problems and admits that he has been in trouble with the law several times.
VG has had access to three convictions, respectively a conviction for violence and robbery from 2010, a conviction for robbery from 2012, for which he was acquitted, and a conviction for violence in 2014.
Assistance attorney Tollef Skobba has been informed that VG is reviewing these lawsuits and does not wish to comment further.
The 2014 verdict of violence states that “the defendant has struggled with a number of mental problems. (…) However, it thrives very well in the auto shop in which it is deployed. (…) In relation to the previous personal survey of 4/21/2010, there is significant progress to be tracked. ”
– He struggled a lot, but that changed a few years ago. He started earning a certificate as an auto mechanic, did very well and no longer ended up in nonsense, says Ken Roger Dalen.
– The car shop was his rescue at the time. It was like the best medicine.

Tor Henning started working at Lauvstad Bil Notodden in 2012. He eventually obtained a certificate as an auto mechanic.
Tor Erik Skildrud, general manager of Laustad Bil Notodden, says in a statement to Telen that they want peace between the employees and thus they have protected everyone from the media.
– Today we had a warm moment of memory with the collaborators for reflection, reflection and consideration. Tor Henning was perceived as a caring and compliant colleague who conveyed joy throughout the eight years we spent together. It was a great addition to the company, says Skildrud.
Despite the well-being in the auto shop, Tor Henning has still struggled with his, says Ken Roger.
– There has been a difficult period in recent times. The situation of the crown and a sick leave affected him a lot. It was probably not a trigger, but the tip of the iceberg, says Ken Roger.
Shot by the police
On Tuesday afternoon, two of Tor Henning’s colleagues went home after a phone call they perceived as disturbing.
Skildrud in Lauvstad Bil Notodden emphasizes that the two colleagues who visited Tor Henning in Bolkesjø did not perceive him as a threat. They decided to withdraw from the situation and then called 113 for help when they were concerned about the health condition of their colleague, not the police, as VG had previously written.
Police were notified of the incident through AMK, and at 3:52 p.m. the police were on the scene.
Tor Henning was shot and pronounced dead at 4:35 p.m.
The preliminary autopsy shows that the death was due to gunshot wounds.
Last meeting
Ken Roger last spoke to his little brother four weeks ago.
– He came to greet his uncle’s son for the first time. We chat and chat, it’s like pressing play on a CD player and we go straight back to the old days. Never changed.
At the same time, Ken Roger could see that his little brother was not well, he says.
– You’ve had tough times mentally before, then we talked together and it happened. But I didn’t understand that this was so serious this time that I was so depressed.
