The comedian attacked after the deputy leader of the Progress Party published a case about the requirements for Norwegian knowledge in the health care system.

She has been hot on Listhaug’s Facebook page after she posted a link to the NRK case on Wednesday “FRP wants national requirements for knowledge of Norwegian in the healthcare system”, where she herself appears.

NRK comedian and host Abubakar Hussain (33) decided to give Listhaug fans and commentators what he thinks is the answer in the same coin.

“Shouldn’t he have national requirements for knowledge of the Norwegian language in his comment field? Because I’m surprised by the Norwegian from your sect, Listhaug»Hussain wrote, and set an already heated debate ablaze.

– I don’t really like the rhetoric that his followers and followers use, Hussain tells VG.

– They are “they, they, Muslims your daughter” constantly. They don’t use very good language. So I decided to use their rhetoric against them.

Hussain says he agrees with Listhaug that everyone in the health care system should know Norwegian, but also notes that those requirements already exist.

– I have never met an immigrant who works in a health station or in a hospital, who cannot speak Norwegian.

Listhaug: – Neither constructive nor fun

VG has contacted the communications manager of the Progress Party, Kjetil Løset, and asked Sylvi Listhaug for comment on Hussain’s statement in this case.

According to Løset, Listhaug is busy with other duties on Thursday. However, she gives the following comment via email:

“Abu is a regular comedian, but this level of discussion is neither constructive nor fun. We are concerned that people who understand Norwegian will be brought into the health care system. Speaking Norwegian well is critical to patient safety. We cannot accept that we make demands on those who work in kindergartens, demands on schools, but that caring for the elderly should be free for people without a good enough knowledge of Norwegian. “

Comedian Hussain has received a lot of thumbs up, and the exact opposite, in the many comments he has posted on the thread below Listhaug’s post.

«Thaikoner

He admits that the “troll” in him was engaged. Among other things, he refers to the dissidents in the thread as “backward”, noting that several of them have wives from Thailand, “Thai women,” as he writes.

– I don’t think everyone with Thai icons is racist or naughty. But how can you hate Muslims and dark people and not be with Thai ladies? Hate people who don’t look like you, but go to Thailand and find yourself a wife, more or less?

Hussain refers to many of his statements as “somewhat stupid”, but emphasizes that he is responsible for the introductory comment reproduced at the beginning of this case.

– Yesterday I felt it. But I’m not going to do it every day, he laughs.

– I finished a bit with some of the things, I said some things that are not “kosher”. But when I get so much racist shit that I write something that was really a joke … of course I tried to create a reaction, but all they tell me is that I have to “show respect”. What’s the point that all FRPs want everyone’s respect but can’t give? Why do I have to show respect, while you piss on me while you say I have to show respect?

– Tired of being nice

The 33-year-old makes it clear that he is not very fond of “FRP rhetoric” in general.

– I’m not so happy that they always have to bring foreigners in a way that makes us look worse than we are.

VG asks Hussain if he thinks he’s not kicking himself when he attacks common commenters on Facebook for profanity.

– Maybe so, I must honestly admit. But this is also how I perceive them, they constantly kick.

He believes Listhaug’s statuses on Facebook as of late are “degrading to people like us.”

– I know there are elections soon, but won’t we end this soon? Do you have to use those words and expressions against people who have been fucking before? I’m a little tired of being nice to anyone who’s rude all the time. For me, it was fun to use their rhetoric against them.

He emphasizes that the main problem in this case was not Listhaug itself, but its comment field.

– People are outright mega-racist there.

– Racist race

However, Hussain believes that Listhaug bears responsibility for what is left on his wall.

– I don’t like that he doesn’t take it. If people had commented like that on my wall, I would have addressed it right away.

Hussain himself believes he used “stupid” tricks on the Listhaug wall.

– I felt like it got a little bad after a while, he admits.

At the same time, he makes it clear that he has a big problem with the Progress Party in general and, above all, with the party’s rhetoric on immigration.

– I cannot say with certainty that they are racists, but their rhetoric breeds racists.

Mapping and requirements

VG has forwarded all of Hussain’s statements in this case to the Progress Party’s communications manager, Kjetil Løset, and asked Sylvi Listhaug for comment on them.

From Løset, VG has received an email in which Listhaug does not address Hussain’s statements, but states the following about the health service:

“We want a survey to the employees, if they know Norwegian well enough. If not, they should receive training, and then it should result in a test where they have to pass some requirements to be able to work in these services.”

She believes it is a fact that there are significant language problems in the health care system:

“A survey of nurses on language problems, conducted by the Norwegian Nurses Association in 2015, yielded many disturbing findings. Up to 90 percent of nurses responded that there were language problems in the health care system and 15 percent of nurses thought that language problems in their workplace had endangered their life and health » reports the first deputy leader of the Progress Party.
