Great concern about the development of infections in Stockholm

– I am very concerned about the increasing spread of the infection and the increasing number of patients with covid-19 who need hospital treatment, says the director of health and care of the regions, Björn Eriksson, in a press release.

For the newspaper Expressen, Eriksson says that the region has lost its control. In just three days, the number of crown patients admitted has increased from 148 to 203.

– Now it’s really serious. We have lost control. We have to get it back, says Eriksson.

He adds that the reason for the spread of the infection is that people do not follow the advice and recommendations of public health authorities.

On October 29, restrictions were tightened in Stockholm.

Residents are asked to avoid staying indoors in public places such as shopping malls, museums, libraries, swimming pools, and gyms. The advice also applies to events such as concerts and sporting events.

It is also recommended to avoid physical contact with people outside your home. The measures also apply to Västra Götaland and Östergötland.

Due to the recent spike in infection, the Stockholm region will restart with daily updates on the infection status.
