Grande has sent a report of concern about Trøndelag Ap – NRK Norway – Summary of news from different parts of the country

Grande writes this afternoon in a Facebook post that he has centrally discussed what he describes as a cult in the county team with the Labor Party.

– Today I had my first meeting with the deputy secretary of the party. At this meeting, I have submitted a report of concern about incidents and culture in the Trøndelag Labor Party that needs to be cleaned up, he writes.

– I have also failed

Grande says she has taken the lead in a central process to get to the bottom of conditions in the county party, find solutions and give people a chance to move on.

It does not mention individuals or events, but lists three wishes for the process:

  • May those who have had bad experiences get an apology
  • A centrally controlled process and plans are made to prevent more people from being exposed to similar negative incidents
  • An ethical standard should be developed for people in leadership positions in the party.

Grande further writes that the problems in the party are not just about individuals, but assert that there are “hidden and unhealthy power structures” and that people have been too unaware of their roles and behavior.

– I myself have seen too often that the party has lost members and talents because people do not have the strength to participate in the game, because they have experienced discomfort and because it is better for them to withdraw.

– We must be willing to settle for ourselves, writes Grande and acknowledges that he has also failed.

– I have also failed people that I should have defended and who were left alone. That time has passed.

Responds to leaks

On Monday, a unanimous election committee from the Trøndelag Labor Party proposed that Trond Giske be the new leader of the county team.

The Labor Party’s youth organization AUF withdrew its support for Giske and on Friday he was rejected and the election committee made a new recommendation.

Grande writes that, in her opinion, the nominating committee did a good job of making a new recommendation after they rejected Giske as county leader. But what he describes as deliberately planted leaks made the situation very demanding for the annual meeting and for everyone involved.

So now he wants the party to carry out a centralized review of the work.

Tension between Grande and Kjerkol

Storting representative Ingvild Kjerkol was among the favorites to become the new county leader.

Surprisingly, the head of the nominating committee, Arild Grande, announced that Marit Bjerkås is being proposed as the new county party leader.

During the annual meeting on Saturday, the bank’s proposal came in and Ingvild Kjerkol became the new county party leader.

Nominating committee chair Arild Grande warned against letting those who have had great power for many years be the ones to settle for a party culture for which they are responsible. Among the people in power he was referring to is Kjerkol.

– Some have been through great stress

Grande says that several have asked him to be more specific about what the so-called culture is based on, but that those affected have also asked him not to retell their stories.

– I said on the podium at the county annual meeting that I have seen people expelled, muttered, crushed, some almost perishing in an unhealthy party culture. Of course, not everyone will recognize themselves in this image, at least not people who have power and confidence in themselves. But there are people who haven’t had it, or haven’t had a good time, in our party.

– Some have gone through great tensions and must have control over what they want to say and what not. Therefore, the process must be carried out internally in the party in an orderly manner, and its solution found there. This will ensure that everyone involved is treated safely and fairly. If people want to stand out with your story, you must depend solely on them.

NRK has attempted to contact Grande on Monday afternoon regarding the post, but she is referring to what she has written.

On Facebook, Grande writes:

“I’m not going to comment further on this at this time to the press, out of respect for everyone involved.”
