Fewer passengers lead to fewer exits in Jærbanen, Go-Ahead reports in a press release. Several of the changes will go into effect next weekend.

There are strong infection control measures and a decrease in passenger numbers in connection with the corona pandemic, which means that Go-Ahead is canceling departures in Jærbanen. The night lounges, that is, the local night trains, on weekends are canceled from December 4.
– With the second wave of infection in Norway and the national and local infection control measures that follow from it, we are adapting the train service while maintaining the important social function that the train is. Simply put, we keep supply where the need is great and narrow it where the need is least, writes Go-Ahead Norway CEO Cathrine Elgin in a press release.
The temporary downsizing has been decided in dialogue with the Norwegian Railway Directorate and the first changes will take effect on Friday, December 4.
Among the departures that are temporarily reduced are the nightspots, the Nærbø turns, that is, the trains that turn in Nærbø, Saturday and Sunday and the Skeiane turns, trains that turn in Skeiane in Sandnes, but here it only applies to off-peak departures.
Several of the changes will go into effect starting next weekend.
