The far-right group Proud Boys has received a lot of attention lately.
Members of the Proud Boys are politically far-right and are considered white nationalists. They have outlined themselves that they are not afraid to use violence as a political tool.

During the first presidential debate, President Donald Trump was asked if he wanted to distance himself from right-wing extremists and white nationalists. Trump wanted to know which groups to distance himself from, and Fox News host Chris Wallace singled out the Proud Boys.
“Proud guys: walk away and wait,” Trump said, before criticizing left-wing groups. Translated, it means “retire and be ready.”
The Proud Boys took this as an acknowledgment, and the group has now printed Trump’s words in their own logo.

However, it is unclear if the Proud Boys are so pleased with the development that they are now making headlines.
In a kind of political action, gay men have now decided to hijack the #ProudBoys hashtag on Twitter.

If you search for the hashtag, now you will only get images of men kissing or expressing love to each other. Some posts also have memes that will poke fun at the grouping.
It’s unclear who his idea was, but actor George Takei has received much of the credit for the action.
– What if gays took pictures of themselves hugging and doing really gay stuff, and tagged it with #ProudBoys? It will surely irritate them, Takei wrote.

Claim they don’t care
The leader of the Proud Boys, Enrique Tarrio, assures that he does not see problems with the action, and that on the contrary, they believe that everything is a fun initiative.
“I think it’s hysterical,” he told CNN.
– This is not offensive to us. We are not homophobic. We don’t care who people are with. People think we care. Not so, says Tarrio.
However, according to Forbes, the truth is a bit different. Proud Boys was banned from Twitter in 2018 and therefore its members use the Parler platform. There must have been heated comments in recent days.
Tarrio is said to have written that he believes dissidents are trying to make his name an insult and are trying to drown out the voices of his supporters.
