Odd Naustdal, Aker Solutions communications worker, confirms to E24 that there has been an explosion in the yard of Aker Solutions (formerly Kvaerner Stord) in Stord in western Norway.

Various projects in the yard

Merger and new construction
The merger between Aker Solutions and Kvaerner was completed last year and in November the companies began operating as one. The Stord shipyard became part of Aker Solutions.
