After 15 years at the Storting, Kari Kjønaas Kjos (Frp) of the Progress Party retires from politics.
She has been sitting in the Storting since 2005, and now the 58-year-old woman is retiring from politics, Dagbladet writes. She is currently elected from Akershus and is a member of the Justice Committee at Storting.
She does not give any reason for her resignation, but tells the newspaper that she does not like the development of the debate on social networks and says that it will be good to get rid of anger in inflamed cases.
– Now we know how extremely devastating it is to be bullied as a child. I have met many people who say that my whole life fell apart because they were harassed in childhood. Still, adults are online, dealing with harassment, threats, and intimidation of the worst kind. So we still think that it is incomprehensible that we cannot overcome the bullying of children, says Kari Kjønaas Kjos.
Siv Jensen comments on the case that Kjnaas Kjos has always defended people and respected Storting as the little man’s defender.
