The local team leader in Tvedestrand Frp, Silje Flaten Haugli, has repeatedly criticized Sylvi Listhaug as a candidate for Frp leadership.

– She’s very capable, but she’s too controversial and creates a lot of division in the group, she said in an interview with NRK.

The statements caused the 27-year-old to be expelled from the party for seven months.

The case was first mentioned by Agderposten.

Surprised

It was the county board and later the central board that decided to ban Flaten Haugli from the party based on statements about what will likely be the new FRP leader.

Exclusion means that the 27-year-old cannot participate in the electoral campaign or in meetings.

Flaten Haugli tells Dagbladet that she is not surprised by the county council’s decision as, according to her, it is characterized by many conflicts.

On the other hand, she is very surprised that the central board has chosen to stick with the decision.

She herself disagrees with the basis of the suspension.

– They claim that I have violated the statutes to damage the reputation of the party. On the contrary, I believe that with this statement I have saved the small liberal part that remains in the party. I show that there are several sides to Frp and that not everyone dances to Siv’s pipe. I have also received that feedback from many others, Flaten Haugli tells Dagbladet.

According to NRK, the decision establishes, among other things:

“The statements given to the central, regional and local media have contributed to damaging the reputation of party and central party members.”

Several have retired

In protest against the decision, four of the five members of the local team’s board have already resigned. Work is now under way to establish a temporary board on the local team.

– I think this is sad for the home team. Now it’s almost gone, says Flaten Haugli.

On Monday, it was announced that the FRP nominating committee nominated Sylvi Listhaug as the new party leader, while Ketil Solvik-Olsen has been nominated as the first deputy leader.

On Tuesday, it emerged that Frp veteran Kari Kjønaas Kjos will resign as spokesperson for drug policy in Frp.

She does so in protest against Sylvi Listhaug, who believes that it was against partisan democracy when she proposed the resolution on drug reform without involving her or a health policy spokesperson.

– I have notified that I am resigning as spokesman for drug policy. I’m not going to get involved in drug reform. I experienced it as a direct mistrust of myself, as I was responsible for that case, Kjos told VG.
