– The fourth was found in the same area as discovery number three, and the two people were transported out of the area, task leader Knut Hammer says at a press conference Saturday night at 9 p.m.

On Saturday, it was clear to police that they hope to find survivors in the land masses that have taken over many houses.

The rescue operation will continue in full force until 02:00, no later than 04:00, Sunday night.

Dogs searching for the missing have made multiple marks, the fire department said early Saturday.

Rescue personnel will then enter to examine the marks the dogs have made.

Will not look at random

“We are still looking for survivors,” says Fire Service Operations Manager Kenneth Vangen at the news conference Saturday night.

The fire service says they have some so-called points of interest that they should investigate, they should search for a few hours.

– It is important that we do not look at random, we must let the injury site rest so that the dogs can make more marks, so that it does not smell us, says Vangen.

He says that there are demanding conditions that rescuers work in, it is dark, dirty, muddy and risky.

In the right place

Vengen himself was in the landslide area with the Swedish special team on Thursday.

– We have intelligence that we are in the right area and we hope that we will meet more throughout the night, says the task leader to TV 2.

One reason emergency services believe survivors can be found is if people remain in airbags.

– We found airbags, and we prioritize looking where we think there are enough airbags to survive. That is why we are in this area (since they have found the two missing Saturday editor’s notes). Most of the missing are in the area where we are now, Vengen says.

Moved 400 meters

The area where the dead have been found is about 400 meters from where the homes were originally located.

– We have great faith that we will find more. There are others who have been in a completely different area, that at the moment it is difficult to say where they are. There are also people who have been outdoors when the avalanche passed, operations manager Hammer tells TV 2 at 11pm.

– It is still possible to find survivors. Therefore, there is now a complete search. It will also take place tomorrow. He will make continuous evaluations, he continues.
