Just after 12.30 on Monday, all emergency services moved to the Gjermundshamn ferry pier in Kvinnherad municipality after several pedestrians were hit by a car.
– A total of four pedestrians have been hit by the car. As of now, there is nothing to indicate that this was a deliberate act, states the West Police District.
Both the air ambulance and the rescue helicopter are on site.
– The first police patrol is already at the scene and claims that one of the people is seriously or seriously injured. The other three are described as slightly injured, operations manager Tore Andre Brakstad in the West Police District tells TV 2.
The police are in control of the driver of the car, who is an elderly woman.
– The woman must have backtracked on the people who were standing in a sales booth at the ferry dock. We don’t yet know the background of how it happened, says Brakstad.
A witness at the scene tells TV 2 that the older woman must have turned her back on the people first before driving forward and over them again.
The elderly driver is treated by health on the spot.
Police still do not know the sex and age of the four injured people.
