– We are almost done with infection tracking, but we are not done yet. It’s a weekend and it’s not easy to reach everyone, Marta Ebbing, director of issues at Haukeland told BT on Sunday.

A total of seven employees are now infected at the hospital. The last case that the hospital became aware of late last night, and there they have not completely finished tracking infections, says the information director.

Haukeland tracks internally, while the municipality assumes responsibility for tracking infections in the community.

– We monitor employees and patients, says Ebbing, adding that currently no patients are infected.

– Have good routines

She emphasizes that it should be safe to come to the hospital for those who need it.

– We do not want to return to the situation in March and April, when some patients were afraid to contact the health service. We have good routines to protect patients and ourselves from infection. We have implemented additional measures in the emergency department.

She says the hospital will now consider adjusting the visiting schedule.

– We understand that it is difficult for patients not to receive visits from relatives, but at the same time it is a measure to maintain a sufficient distance between everyone, and to protect patients and staff from infections in the hospital.
