Ingvild Smine’s Tybring-Gjedde is the second former minister to testify in the criminal case against former Justice Minister Tor Mikkel Wara’s partner. The first was Wara.

Tybring-Gjedde-Gjedde, former Minister of Emergency Management Ingvild Smine, will appear in court on Wednesday. Here he is photographed with his assistant attorney, Hermann Skard. Dan P. Neegaard

1. Who is Ingvild Smine’s Tybring-Gjedde?

Tybring-Gjedde (Frp) was Minister of Civil Protection and Emergency Planning at the same time as Bertheussen’s co-inhabitant was Minister of Justice. Previously, he was Secretary of State in the Ministry of Oil and Energy.

2. What is your role in the case?

The former Minister of Emergency Preparedness is offended in the case because she and her husband, Parliamentary Representative Christian Tybring-Gjedde (Frp), received a threatening letter. Bertheussen is accused of sending this letter.

Ingvild Smines Tybring-Gjedde has demanded compensation limited to 5,000 crowns. His assistant attorney, Hermann Skard, described the amount in court as “unusually low” and justified it on the grounds that the Tybring-Gjedde couple do not want to enrich themselves in a sad case.

Christian Tybring-Gjedde is also scheduled to testify in court on Wednesday.

3. What does the prosecution think it is exposed to?

The prosecution believes that Bertheussen on January 29, 2019 sent a letter which he mailed to the Tybring-Gjedde couple. The letter arrived on February 5.

The letter had the following content, consisting of letters cut from a journalistic interview with one of the actors in the play. Ways of seeing:

‘I just have to laugh at you

We are not the dangerous ones, they are the racists

When they say they save, I just have to laugh

See you on 26 02 at 20

The main point is: do we want to live in a shitty society or a nice society? »

According to the indictment, Bertheussen must have sent a similar letter to him and his co-inhabitant Tor Mikkel Wara, who was then Minister of Justice. Subsequent research has shown that the letters contained urine.

4. What connection does she have with the play? Ways to see?

The old house of Tybring-Gjedde was one of the houses that were filmed and shown in the play. The wall of Wara and Bertheussen’s house was also shown. Wara, along with other politicians, was described as part of a “racist network”.

Bertheussen took it very badly.

The prosecution believes that Bertheussen himself was behind the threats and attacks against him and the man in an attempt to blacken the work. She denies it herself.

5. Why has Tybring-Gjedde become a topic in the courtroom?

The prosecution has presented to the court parts of the conversations that Ingvild Smine’s Tybring-Gjedde had with Bertheussen during the period in which the attacks and threats against Wara and Bertheussen continued. They talked about the play several times.

Tybring-Gjedde is said to have been highly critical of the then Culture Minister Trine Skei Grande championing the artistic freedom of the theater. According to Filter Nyheter, she wrote “Damn Minister of Culture !!!” in a message to Bertheussen. The two also communicated with several others in an internal chat group.

6. Did the events occur before or after she assumed the post of Minister of Social Security?

Tybring-Gjedde became Minister of State on January 22, 2019 and resigned on January 24, 2020, when the Progress Party left the government. Before becoming Minister of State, she was Secretary of State in the Ministry of Oil and Energy.

Tybring-Gjedde received the threat letter on February 5.

7. Who participated in the chat group that was talked about so much?

Filter News has played many messages from a chat group called “Hækaveh”. The reports have been presented by the prosecution as evidence in the criminal case. Some of the messages are also played in the courtroom. In court, Bertheussen has explained the message in the group as “nonsense”.

In addition to Bertheussen, the group participated:

  • Tybring-Gjedde (Frp), Secretary of State and later Minister of Emergency Management Ingvild Smine.
  • The then recently resigned Secretary of State Line Miriam Sandberg (Frp), who is the ex-wife of former deputy FRP leader Per Sandberg.
  • Rita Karlsen i Human Rights Service.
  • Gry-Anette Rekanes Amundsen (Frp). She is married to a parliamentary representative and former Minister of Justice from Frp Per-Willy Amundsen.

The newspaper has also reproduced messages between Bertheussen and Oslo Frp county leader Tone Ims Larssen, and messages that have gone directly between Bertheussen and Tybring-Gjedde.

8. Tybring-Gjedde has denied leaking information outside the public. What do the chat logs you have done show?

“If you have someone who can leak the case to the press and NOT Dagbladet, I will not interfere. I will not comment. The PST has been here,” Bertheussen wrote in a message to Tybring-Gjedde on December 6, 2018.

Bertheussen is said to have sent several photos to Tybring-Gjedde of, among other things, the labeling of the word “racist” on the wall of the Bertheussen / Wara house.

Tybring-Gjedde asked if he could forward the images, received a clear signal, and shortly thereafter wrote:

‘Via via … can’t be traced … NRK takes it. They leave everything they have in their hands. “

One of the photos was posted by NRK.

For Aftenposten, Tybring-Gjedde has flatly denied that it was she who leaked the images to NRK or gave clues to the channel.

Tybring-Gjedde herself wrote in a message to Bertheussen that she “thinks this should go up and down.” and expresses that it does not agree with the Prime Minister’s office on what should come to light.

9. Why is it attracting so much attention?

The Filter Nyheter article has drawn attention, among other things, because it appears from the chat logs that Tybring-Gjedde, as Secretary of State, writes that she hopes the Minister of Justice will get the prosecutor to perform in front of the theater.

“I hope Tor Mikkel goes to the prosecutor to assess all the legal aspects of this !!!!”, he is said to have written, among other things.

The fact that the prosecution is independent from the political authorities is an important rule of law. In September 2019, the government proposed to legislate this principle.

10. Will chat messages be a topic when Tybring-Gjedde testifies?

State Attorney Frederik Ranke tells Aftenposten that he is not due to present any new messaging messages in court on Wednesday.

– Now we do not know if they themselves want to enter Messenger messages during their explanation. Then we’ll hear what they have to say about the messages, says Ranke, who is the prosecutor on the case.

– How interesting are the messages that were sent to and from the accused?

We highlight messages that have already been documented in court. Reports document that Bertheussen leaked to the press. It is strange that it was leaked to the press while the investigation of the case was in the initial phase, says Ranke.
