Four hours after being named Spell of the Year, Sigrid Solbakk Raabe can cheer on the top spot on the UK’s official singles chart.
The 23-year-old from Ålesund is one of 25 vocalists who have joined together under the name Live Lounge Allstars. Under the auspices of the BBC, they have created a cover version of the Foo Fighters classic “Times Like These”.
The song was released last Thursday. Great interest in the UK made it top iTunes and went straight to fifth on the UK chart the following day.
Since then, he has struggled a lot with The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” for first place, and the BBC is now confirming that “Times Like These” will win.
– Joining this together with some of my childhood heroes is amazing! This has been a great day, Sigrid tells VG.
“It would be crazy,” he told the BBC to take first place, half an hour before the results were announced.
There he revealed that his contribution was recorded on his phone, and that he did not hesitate when the request to join came.
– Immediately I said yes. You don’t say no to such a thing.

Sigrid is a celebrity on “Times Like These”: vocalists include Dua Lipa, Ellie Goulding, Jess Glynne, Chris Martin of Coldplay and Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters.
The latest band has never topped the UK charts before.
Norwegians who led
This year Spellemann for 2019 is also among the musicians of the song; Sigrid plays the piano.
The official British hit list is considered one of the best gifts in the world; considered by many to be the second most prestigious, after the American Billboard Hot 100.
a-ha was the first Norwegian artist to overcome it, in 1986, with “The Sun Always Shines On TV”.

No Norwegian-Norwegian artist name repeated the feat before Nico & Vinz switched to first place with “Am I Wrong” in 2014.
Seeb, Spellemann’s daily winner for the pop group in 2019, took his remix of Mike Posner’s “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” to the top in 2016.
Several have reached the top 10, including Lene Marlin, Madcon, Kygo, Alan Walker, Ina Wroldsen and Sigrid himself; He took tenth place with “Strangers” in 2018.
Two Norwegian artists topped the list as members of the band: Lene Nystrøm and the Danish Aqua throne at the top with “Barbie Girl” in 1997, while Christian Ingebrigtsen and the other British A1 in 2000 managed to get a-ha not to, Take “Take On” Me »to the first place.
