Five foreign persons fined for violating quarantine rules – NRK Vestland

In recent times, several people in the southwestern police district have been fined for violating quarantine rules after entering Norway.

A 19-year-old foreign national has been fined 20,000 crowns and deported from the country for selling drugs in Haugesund. The man arrived in Norway from Great Britain on Thursday, November 5, and was approached by police in Haugesund on Tuesday.

– The man has not complied with the quarantine obligation and has resided with several different people since arriving in Norway. The person in question was fined 20,000 crowns for violating quarantine rules and approved the fine, prosecutor Tonje Leirgulen Ravndal said in a press release.

Three quarantined workers took a taxi

On the same day, the police observed three foreign workers getting out of a taxi in front of a barracks platform in Kværner Stord. This is where the many guest workers wait in quarantine before starting rotation work in the yard.

More than 500 guest workers are in the blink of an eye at Stord. This weekend, more than 200 people came in a new rotation. Several of these test positive for covid-19.

According to the Infection Control Law, cf. Covid-19 regulations, people coming to Norway must be quarantined for 10 days.

– The investigation showed that these three had violated quarantine rules and have now received a quarter of their fine of 20,000 crowns. All have approved the fine, says prosecutor Sidsel Tunestveit.

Immigration authorities are now considering whether all three should be deported.

Russian woman fined and deported

Police approached a Russian woman in Stavanger last week. The investigation showed that the woman had been in contact with several people during the quarantine period after her arrival in Oslo on October 23.

– The woman had stayed at various addresses in Oslo, Kristiansand and Stavanger during the quarantine period. During this period, he was also in physical contact with various people, explains prosecutor Kjetil G. Solhaug.

In accordance with section 7 of the Infection Control Act, cf. Covid-19 regulations, people coming to Norway must be quarantined for 10 days. This means that one must stay in his own home or in another suitable place of residence.

The person can only stay away from the home or place of residence if close contact with other people than the people with whom they live can be avoided.
