Five people have been confirmed dead in what the French newspaper Le Parisien describes as a family tragedy.
A man is said to have attacked several adults and children at a house in Noisy-le-Sec on the outskirts of Paris on Saturday morning.

Four of the five killed are children, says an unidentified police source. They must be between a few months and 14 years old.
The fifth person killed is a woman, writes L’est Républicain.
Three other people are seriously injured and two are described as serious. One of them is the perpetrator, writes the newspaper.

The motive for the attack is not yet known, but according to the newspaper Le Figaro, the police are investigating whether there may be a family conflict in the image.
