“I can’t even believe the word is coming out of my mouth, but we’re at a point where I can imagine an armed civil war,” Rick Allen Kirkham tells Dagbladet.
The American has been a familiar face in his home country for many years, including as a television reporter for CBS’s “Inside Edition.” However, it was only with the hit Netflix concert “Tiger King” that Kirkham, who has lived in Bodø for three years, became a global celebrity.
Night to Wednesday from kl. 03 you can see the first presidential debate between Donald Trump (74) and the Democratic challenger Joe Biden (77), where the profile of the “King Tiger” and the former journalist also poses in the Dagbladet TV studio.
Voted Biden
However, it is not completely impartial. You have already cast your vote for Biden.
The characteristics of the incumbent president vaguely suit Kirkham: “con man”, “clown”, “liar”, “racist”. But that doesn’t mean that he necessarily believes that Biden is the best man imaginable for the job.
– To be honest: Joe Biden wasn’t the strongest vice president we’ve ever had. I think people have now forgotten that he has become a presidential candidate. My personal opinion is that I may never be the strongest candidate we can have.

Kirkham thinks the smartest thing Biden has done is to add vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris to the team. The hope is that it will motivate constituencies where Biden may have limited appeal.
– If African Americans, Hispanics and the younger voices, Biden will win. But I don’t think Biden is the one who attracts them.
The explanation is simple, believe:
– Biden is another white old man. And in the United States, we are tired of old whites ruling the country and making our laws. So he has a tough fight ahead of him to win.
– Lawless
Through various interviews and press conferences, Donald Trump has refused to answer definitively whether he will accept the electoral result if he loses the November elections. It has sparked strong reactions both within the Republican Party and elsewhere in the American people.
On Thursday of last week, Trump’s press secretary Kayleigh McEnany resigned, saying that the president “will accept the outcome of a free and fair election,” according to The New York Times. Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader in the Senate, also promised a peaceful transfer of power, according to the BBC.
If Trump still chooses to sit on his hind legs, the American people are in uncharted waters, Kirkham believes.
– We have no laws, we have no precedent for such a situation, he says.
In a worst-case scenario, Trump could drag it all into a month-long bureaucratic process, he fears.
– Probably end up in the Supreme Court. I think that is one of the reasons why you are so concerned about a new Supreme Court justice being appointed before the election. I think he is preparing for a battle to retain power even though he has lost.
“Speak” in the Norwegian program
– Back to the 1950s
Kirkham describes it as “painful” to follow the country of origin from Norway.
“Trump supporters are trying to take America back to the 1950s, when women were second-class citizens and blacks didn’t have the same rights as whites,” she said.
He has several theories about what might happen after the November 3 election, and none of them are particularly edifying.
– Trump supporters have threatened civil war from day one. They carry automatic weapons on their backs and talk about not wanting to accept defeat. It is a very scary and discouraging time for all Americans.
In the worst case, he fears armed clashes in the streets. It outlines a dystopian vision of the future in which “heavily armed militias” and Trump’s friends clash with armed street gangs, with the US military in between.
– We can’t get there. There is nothing we can allow.
He escaped the desperate tiger to Norway
– Prepare your weapons
When Trump indicates that he will not accept the election result, he ignites this idea, Kirkham believes.
– For its base, it means: Prepare your weapons. That is a scary thought. Trump scares me like water and scares most Americans. We must pray and wait for the voices to come, and soon.
But Trump’s base is not as big as you might think, according to Kirkham. He believes that Trump and his hard-core voters represent a minority in their home country.
The rest of the country, he believes, is moving in exactly the opposite direction: towards the desire for a system that is more similar to the Norwegian one.
While much of the country is moving in the direction of a socialist atmosphere, Trump is trying to steer it back to the ultra-conservatism of the 1950s.
But sooner or later the wind will change, you think.
– In ten to twenty years, a candidate who defends democratic socialism will win, without a doubt. That is where we are all headed. It is simply a better system.

Tributes to Norway
For many Americans, socialism means communism. It’s a program that will take time to learn, Kirkham believes. Therefore, the country was not prepared for a candidate like the radical Bernie Sanders, who is also a “white elder.”
– I have lived in Norway for three years and have become familiar with the system. It’s a fantastic steering game. It is not communism, it is democracy and it is for the people. I really think that’s what the United States is heading for. Towards a system similar to the Norwegian one.
However, Kirkham believes that Trump’s time in the White House has turned out a good thing: the protests. Mentions Black Lives Matter (BLM), protests for women’s rights and the tightening of gun laws. The young faces at the demonstrations give him hope, he says.
– What gives me hope is the youth in the United States. It gives me hope to see the BLM protests and see that half of the faces are white. That people are willing to stand up and say, “Enough of Trump. Enough of this nightmare.”
Biden is Israel’s best friend
It is not a “fair fight”
Once Trump is out of the White House, he follows a path, according to Kirkham. The moment Trump resigns, he will face prosecution in the case where his former attorney Michael Cohen is serving a three-year sentence, he believes.
– They’re just waiting for me to resign, and I think I could very possibly end up in prison.
When Biden meets Trump in a debate Wednesday night, there is a trap he shouldn’t fall into, Kirkham believes:
– I think if Biden thinks he will encounter “fair play” and civilized debate, he’s wrong. Must be prepared to bite. You should prepare. Donald Trump doesn’t fight fair.
