For the first time since Ståle Solbakken’s sacking, two of the FCK players talk about the Norwegian’s leadership style.
It happens in a function on Canal9 before the match against SønderjyskE.
FC Copenhagen have struggled for a long time, both before and especially after the Solbakken match. They have lost three games in a row at home, after being in the Europa League quarter-finals against Manchester United this summer.
Seven weeks ago, the Norwegian was fired from the club in the Danish capital, which he has led in the most successful stage in its history.
– There are many who lack confidence in themselves or faith in the state of things. And a unit, says the FCK player Boilesen in a teaser published by Canal9:
Solbakken himself has fired powerful salvoes in the direction of the FCK leadership for his handling of the case on TV 3, a competitor of Canal9. Among other things, he has objected to the way they gave him the message, which was by phone, after 13 years in the direction of FCK.
Boilesen, for his part, goes so far as to suggest that Solbakken should look in the mirror. The defender was retired from the FCK captain’s team two seasons ago and lost most of last season with a cruciate ligament injury.
– Of course, it is also part of the management style that has been a problem. There’s no question about that, he says.
The journalist then asks if he is referring to Solbakken’s leadership style, to which Boilesen replies affirmatively.

He is then supported by Rasmus Falk.
– Ståle is a tough coach, and it was a tough pitch. We should be able to handle that, but there is no doubt that it has happened over a long period in Copenhagen, where I see that many have lacked joy in life, Falk tells Channel9.
VG has contacted Ståle Solbakken about the criticism, and it is clear that he does not want to continue with the public laundry.
– FCK and I have to keep going, I can defend one hundred percent what I have done in all our years at FCK, both on and off the pitch. I have given FCK everything I have, with the best of intentions, both short term and long term, he tells VG.
He does not want to comment on the proposals of the players in particular.
