Police were notified of the incident at 12.50 am on Wednesday night.

– The message was that the offended father called the police and told them that he and his daughter had been stabbed. When he was on the phone with the police, he told them that the perpetrator, a man in his 40s, was outside the apartment he was in and tried to enter, says the operations manager in the Trøndelag police district, Wenche Johnsen, to Dagbladet.

Apparently the stabbing took place in or near the apartment in question, and the police moved in with large armed forces.

Aimed at the perpetrator

After just over half an hour, a police patrol found who they believe is the author of the case. They had to point guns at him, Johnsen says.

– Experienced policemen pointed guns at him to gain control. They eventually ended up using pepper spray to arrest him and did not fire, says the operations manager.

The perpetrator is said to have recovered from the incident unscathed, but is taken to a health center for a check before being transferred to the place of detention.

– Regarding the scope of the damage suffered by the victim, this has not been determined at the moment. We have received initial information that women in their 30s have suffered more serious injuries than men in their 50s, Johnsen says.

Confirm the relationship

Johnsen confirms to Dagbladet that there is a relationship between the offended and the perpetrator.

– I can’t go deeper into what kind of relationship they have, but there is a relationship there, he says.

A possible reason is also too early to comment, he says.

Johnsen also says there were three other people in the apartment the victims were found in, all minors.

– We have launched an investigation, and we will follow it throughout the day on Wednesday, he says.
