About 20 people were quarantined Friday at the Oseberg Field Center, one of four rigs in the oil and gas field west of Bergen. An Equinor employee first tested positive and then negative on a corona test.

The person should have shown no symptoms prior to reaching the platform. Equinor decided to quarantine all close contacts in their cabinets pending a response to the third test.

All flights to and from the platform from Bergen were also stopped. The operation on the platform was normal, but tasks that are not critical to the operation could be postponed.

On Friday afternoon, Aftenbladet learns that the third test sent to Haukeland University Hospital is negative, much to the relief, says the insider.

Spokesperson Morten Eek at Equinor confirms a negative test and that operations at the Oseberg field will now go as normal.

The Oseberg field is located in the North Sea, west of Bergen, and has four platforms. Three of them are connected by bridges, where the center of the field is the platform in the middle.

Just over 270 people are now aboard the field center.
