Every Friday, “Master of the Masters” has been the great gathering place at the Koss family home. Father Johann has not told the four children how it went.

Published:

Johann Olav Koss is a good friend of last year’s “Master of the Masters” winner, Eirik Verås Larsen.

– I should probably ask him for more advice.

The former 1994 Olympic winner says this to VG after he had to surrender Friday night for Aksel Lund Svindal in a night test. Thus, the adventure of the “Master of Masters” was before him.

– I really didn’t want to meet him at the night test, when I still chose Aksel it was because he was the only fair thing in relation to the others. It was a bad tactical choice. But Aksel and I were the last and penultimate after today’s exercises, says Johann Olav Koss.

– “Master of the Masters” has been the great meeting point every Friday this winter. I have not told the children anything about how they have been doing and I am excited by what they are saying now. But they didn’t like it when I was in the night test against Linda Medalen last week, says Johann Olav Koss.

For the recording in Arendal, he gained more than ten kilos less, after trying to train three-quarters of an hour to an hour a day in advance. Viewers may remember him best for his efforts on show two when he sat in the infamous “90 degrees” for 40 minutes and four seconds.

– When I look back now, it was incredibly intense with so many competitions in such a short time. But overall, it was incredibly fun to be a part of “The Master of Masters.” At the same time, I see that there are exercises that come after which I would like to be part of and I think I could have done well.

But even though he would like to continue, Johann Olav Koss also has many fond memories of time in the home of the outcast in Tvedestrand.

– It was very nice to be there with the others who were knocked out. It is also nice not to have a camera all the time.

– But there have not been many opportunities to be there last week. It’s been more than enough to keep four kids up to date with homeschooling and all that that entails, Koss says as the kids scream for pizza for lunch in the background.
