Emily Murphy claims that the White House did not pressure her to postpone the nomination of Joe Biden as the winner of the election. But she says they have threatened to do the opposite.

Before the US presidential election, hardly anyone knew who Emily Murphy was. In 2017, Donald Trump appointed his head of the office that manages the state’s building stock and public procurement, the so-called General Services Administration (GSA). A date that nobody noticed.
His position only became important when the elections ended and all the US media declared on November 7 that Democrat Joe Biden (78) had won the elections. This is because your office will be opened so that Biden’s transition team has access to public resources, offices, and the opportunity to collaborate with public employees.

Held for 16 days
He has been waiting 16 days to do so, since President Donald Trump has refused to acknowledge defeat and the Republican Party has supported him. It wasn’t until Monday night that he gave in to the mounting pressure and declared that Biden appeared to be the winner of the election.
Democrats have emphasized that a further delay would pose a security risk to the country. In recent days, several prominent Republicans have also argued that the transition to a new government should begin.

Says she and her loved ones were threatened
In a letter to Biden, who according to The Washington Post is unusually personal, Murphy writes that he has always tried to do the right thing. She denies having been directly or indirectly pressured by President Trump or anyone else in the White House.
But, the 46-year-old writes, she has received threats online, by phone or by mail. post, “who has targeted my safety, my family, my employees and even my pets” in an attempt to get her to make a decision early.

– I was afraid of being fired this weekend.
Murphy and his staff already sent a letter to the White House on Friday announcing that they would name Biden as the winner of the election. She and her closest associates braced themselves in case they were told via Twitter over the weekend that they had been fired, The Washington Post reports.
No resignation came. However, Trump wrote on Twitter Monday that he recommends that Murphy and his employees do whatever it takes. He writes that he has asked his people to do the same. In the Twitter message, he gives the impression that he is doing it because he does not want to see Murphy, his family and employees exposed to “harassment, threats and harassment”.
You have to build the myth of electoral fraud
Donald Trump has not acknowledged that he lost the presidential election and continues to promote conspiracy theories that the election has been stolen. He announced on Twitter Monday that the fight will continue. A large number of lawsuits aimed at reversing the election results have been rejected by the courts as unfounded. Politicians and local officials have so far resisted pressure from Trump as well.
The US media write that Trump is now trying to get as many people as possible to believe a myth that Biden won through voter fraud.
- It could be used as a propaganda tool during Georgia’s all-important Jan. 5 election, when the last two Senate seats will be decided. If the Democrats win both seats, they will gain control of both houses of Congress.
- Biden may have weakened authority as president.
- It will be easier for Trump to maintain control over the Republican Party. The ultimate goal may be to regain the presidency in four years.
The path to the transfer of power
All 50 states are now in a process in which courts and elected bodies will confirm who has won the elections in their state. Until December 1, we will hear almost daily about decisions made in various states.
Typically this is a formal and undramatic matter, but with repeated accusations of voter fraud, trials and continued political pressure from Trump, the process has taken on a tinge of uncertainty.
December 8 is the deadline for the governor of each state to confirm the result and send a list of the state’s voters to Congress.
On December 14, all 538 voters will meet for the formal election of the next president of the United States. All major American media have declared that Biden won by 306 to 232 voters.
On January 6, Congress will confirm the results of the Electoral College.
On January 20, Joe Biden will assume the presidency and will become the 46th President of the United States.
