Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands agreed on Thursday to a $ 500 billion crisis package in the wake of the Corona crisis, according to Reuters news agency.

The deal paves the way for an agreement between the 27 EU finance ministers, according to Reuters sources.

“Europe has made a decision and is ready to face the gravity of the crisis,” French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire wrote Thursday night.

However, France and Italy have not been affected by their demand for a common loan scheme for European states.

Italy Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte warned early Thursday that the EU’s existence was in jeopardy if countries failed to reach consensus, Reuters writes.
