No one knows where Esther Dingley (37) has gone after embarking on a month-long individual trip in the Pyrenees mountain range on the Franco-Spanish border in November.
The British travel blogger and his 18-year-old partner Dan Colegate (38) have been traveling in Europe since 2014.
The two completely changed their lifestyles six years ago, after Colegate nearly died during an operation just before getting married.

Colegate last heard from her boyfriend on November 22, when he was atop Pic de Sauvegarde mountain in France. Together, the two have written several travel books in addition to the “Esther & Dan” blog.
– This whole scheme has been very good for us and for the relationship. We are really happy, Dingley told the BBC a few days before his disappearance.
So far, neither French nor Spanish scouting teams have managed to find a single trace of Dingley.

– We do not know if he has fallen, has met someone with bad intentions or if he has voluntarily disappeared. We don’t even know if he was in France, says Jean-Marc Bordinaro, who leads the search operation on the French side of The Guardian.

On November 15, Dingley wrote on the Facebook page of the couple in Benasque, Spain, that she was grateful for “the opportunity to spend some time alone in the mountains,” and that she was happy it was a warm November. and a simple path to the top of the mountain to climb.
Four days later, she had to turn around due to bad weather and was said to have been pushed down by another hiker, which police have yet to identify.

The search has now been temporarily closed due to snow, and according to the BBC, Colegate has stated that police are now looking for other possible results besides Dingley having an accident.

Dingley’s aunt, Elizabeth Wolsey Morgan, told British newspaper The Mirror that “the longer this goes on, the more you start to wonder if she could have been kidnapped.”
– If she had had an accident, they probably would have found her. It feels like a living nightmare that I’m waiting to wake up from, says Morgan.

Colegate, for her part, notes that her partner disappeared on a good day, that she was a very experienced hiker, and that she had a clearly defined hiking trail. He hopes to get her back alive.

– I was so happy and happy the last time we spoke, I had done anything to see her face and hug her now.
