A press release from the committee indicates that the committee unanimously wanted to nominate Espen Barth Eide for fifth place.

– Espen has informed the committee that he will say no to that place. That is why the committee has recommended three women and two men for the number of seats we currently have in the Storting, it is said.

The list that is sent for consultation to the party and AUF teams, includes long political experience, renewal and strong union political candidates, is stated in the press release of the nominating committee, which is chaired by Tone Tellevik Dahl.

Party leader Jonas Gahr Støre from Vestre Aker tops the list. Then comes Zaineb Al-Samarai from Nordstrand in second place and Oslo leader Frode Jacobsen from Østensjø in third.

As the nominating committee has chosen to nominate Jacbsen in third place, Barth-Eide has announced that he will not be placed further down the list, he writes on Facebook.

He wanted a safe place on the Storting list if he wanted to stand for election. He writes that he takes note of the committee’s choice and continues:

“At the same time, I have confirmed that I do not want to be put lower on the list. According to me, the committee has not nominated me for the fifth place, since I was offered first.
