– I have learned a lot from what I had no idea before, and now I feel more confident that I can do well in both Aksje-NM and the stock market, says Erik Follestad (31).

VGTV’s profile is currently relevant with the podcast “How are you, man?” where he talks about feelings with other famous men. Soon he will also appear in the E24 miniseries “The Stock School with Erik Follestad.”

Across seven episodes, Follestad receives stock picks from Investtech’s research director, Geir Linløkken. The episodes are released before and during Aksje-NM, and both the viewer and Follestad get some good strategy tips that they can use to do well in the competition.

– Now I look forward to Aksje-NM. The goal is to assert myself in the competition and beat my teammates.

For the last eleven years, E24 has organized Aksje-NM, a competition in which participants receive 100,000 fictitious crowns that can be used to trade shares on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

The game is free for all participants.

The winner is the one who finally gets the highest return after four weeks of trading. First place will be awarded. This year’s Aksje-NM starts on October 5 and you can register now. Press here.

Went public

Follestad is not entirely new when it comes to stock trading.

– I’ve lost some money in stocks before. Six or seven years ago, a friend and I invested, among other things, in sending shares. The goal was for us to make a few dollars off it, but we lost almost everything.

– It was nothing special, he adds.

The former ice hockey pro says he realized it’s not “just” to invest in stocks.

– You have to know what you’re doing. It requires a certain level of knowledge, otherwise it will be pure game.

Expert ally

That is why he has now teamed up with Research Director Linløkken through E24’s Stock School.

– After the lessons with Linløkken, I have learned, among other things, that I have to see if the stock is in an uptrend or a downtrend before deciding whether to invest or not. The lessons were very educational, so I learned many useful things.

Follestad says it has plans to re-enter the stock market and that Aksje-NM will be a unique opportunity to test different investment strategies.

– We can play with 100,000 dummy crowns during Aksje-NM. So I can really try my luck in the stock market before betting my own money.
