The couple met about eight years ago when Stordalen was working as a maid at her father’s The Thief Hotel. He studied abroad, but was at home for the summer when he met the Swede at the hotel. Only a few years later they became a couple.
Bredberg currently works as a Marketing Manager at The Thief, while Emilie Stordalen has had various roles in the family business. In March, he started a new job in the sales department at the central operation of the company’s head office. However, when Norway closed, that work became superfluous. However, he has supported his father during the pandemic.

Emilie Stordalen has undoubtedly followed in her father’s footsteps, but Petter Stordalen has stated on several occasions that there has never been any pressure on her part for children to take over the hotel business.
