– I realize that this is the day of joy for you, but for me unfortunately it is the day of pain.
Else Kåss Furuseth said this when she handed over what must be Norway’s most famous crocodiles today to the winner of the auction during this year’s television campaign.
The gradually known crocs were also tried to auction last year, but then Else ended up buying them herself. So it was with a bit of mixed feelings that he handed them over to their new owner today.
Now they go to an exhibition
– There was a little bidding war at the end, and then it ended at 33,000, Ola Kvale tells NRK.
He is the CEO of a Øvre Eiker company that won the bidding round on Saturday. Kvale sat at home and watched the television broadcast on NRK and wanted to support WWF. The choice fell on the pink shoes.
– Was the sum not important in the end?
– It was for a good cause, so that wasn’t the big question, says Kvale.
From the stage, Kåss Furuseth was able to tell that she was also in the bidding round this year to win her own shoes. Last year, she ended up auctioning them for herself for 10,000 kronor. Therefore, he has bought the crocodiles twice.
– This has been a constant companion for me, and also perhaps one of the longest relationships I have ever been in. And that says a bit about my life too, says Kåss Furuseth, who adds that crocs are perfect for down-to-earth women who want to get up a bit.
The new owner, Ola Kvale, has tried crocodiles, but they are too small. He wants the whole municipality to enjoy them. Therefore, they will be exhibited in different parts of the municipality for people to enjoy.
– I will miss you. And I’ll visit them, says Else.
– Congratulations and condolences to me, he said from the stage.
