Sarpsborg’s visitors scored early in the first half, but five minutes into extra time the draw was wild drama at Intility.

VALLE (Nettavisen): Sarpsborg 08 had not won in five games and Vålerenga had not lost at home.
Ole Jørgen Halvorsen wanted to do something about it, after 19 minutes, after a pass from the right.
The local team fought and fought, and five minutes into extra time came the draw. Ivan Näsberg struck, through the back of Felix Horn Myhre, at 1-1, and thus secured an important point in the bronze match for Vålerenga.

Despite the draw, Dag Eilev Fagermo was not happy with what his team achieved at Intility.
– Sarpsborg didn’t get past midfield in the second half and we created five great chances. We are very inefficient and that is what prevents us from winning. Team morale is good, but we should win, Fagermo tells Nettavisen after the game.
– So you’re a drawer?
– I am disappointed, because we are much better than them. When we create as many opportunities as we create, we must win.

Ivan Näsberg was very central in the final minutes and was penultimate on the ball at the crucial moment.
– It will be a bit chaotic in the end there, but we managed to recover and score a goal, he tells Nettavisen.
Halvorsen in a new role
With injuries to the team’s forwards, Ole Jørgen Halvorsen had to figure in an unknown role at the top of Sarpsborg. The 33-year-old responded by scoring the visiting team’s only goal and was satisfied with the performance of the guests.
– Actually, it worked quite well and sets the opportunity that it should set. You win some duels and create some disturbances there, so I’m pretty happy.
– How is the feeling after keeping a point?
– I think it will be a very important point in the background battle, although of course we wish there were three points when we are so close. We will probably be a little too low, they will also push us for a long time. “I think we had a good game away from home,” Halvorsen tells Nettavisen.
Started evenly
Vålerenga started better at Intility, and it was young Ousame Sahaouri who was behind the biggest dangers.

Sarpsborg was the best team even after the goal. The home side struggled to get the ball back, but minutes before half-time Kjartansson had the chance again. The Icelander got into the ball and had the target set, but the shot passed through Bjørn Inge Utvik and went out to the corner.
Shortly after, striker Halvorsen was there again, but he missed the ball in the final moment and made it easy for Vålerenga to punt.
– We played a very good first round, Halvorsen himself told Eurosport after the first round.
The VIF coach, on the other hand, was less satisfied with the team’s efforts.
– It’s still there and we didn’t get anything, he told Eurosport right at the start of the second round.
Great opportunity
Dag-Eilev Fagermo eliminated Herolind Shala during the break and Bård Finne entered. The Bergen native was going to appear after just seconds into the second half.
