More than 3,600 National Guard soldiers have mobilized and are ready to “assist with cyber defense, polling station work and post-election civil unrest efforts.”
On Monday, 1,000 soldiers were deployed to Massachusetts, 300 to Arizona, 300 to Alabama and an unknown number to Florida, Oregon and Illinois, writes the Military Times.
According to the website, soldiers in Massachusetts and Oregon, which is home to the city of Portland, will be mostly on standby if violent riots break out. In Arizona, they will be ready to be called to “anywhere in the western United States.”
Oregon Gov. Kate Brown declares a state of emergency in the Portland area from 5 p.m. local time Tuesday to 5 p.m. local time Wednesday, Oregon Public Broadcasting reports.
Hide Trump’s message of violence
From the night to Tuesday Norwegian time, Twitter hid a post in which the president of the United States, Donald Trump, affirms that a court decision in Pennsylvania will lead to electoral fraud and violence in the streets.
– The decision will allow violent and uncontrolled deception and will undermine our entire legal system. It will also provoke violence in the streets. Something must be done, writes Trump Twitter.
The message is now censored with a warning that “part or all of the content of this tweet is in dispute and may be misleading information about how to participate in elections or other social processes.”
Trump has repeatedly criticized the Supreme Court ruling allowing mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania to be counted in the days after Election Day.

On Monday night, Dagbladet could write that America’s capital Washington is now preparing ahead of Wednesday night’s presidential election. The glass fronts that usually contain shops, restaurants and banks do not look as usual. Instead, plywood boards have been nailed outside the windows.
The same is happening in several American cities. Fear is violence, riots and riots already on Wednesday.
– They have set this up in the last few days. They are afraid of noise. The last time they broke windows and hit toilets in a nearby building. I’m sure people are planning trouble. I’m worried about it, but I’m not scared, local Collen Robertson Whartman told Dagbladet Monday night.
Anders Romarheim, associate professor at the Department of Defense Studies (IFS), part of the Norwegian Defense College (FHS), tells Dagbladet that the danger of violence and unrest is real.
– It can quickly turn into a violent and destructive period for the United States if the election result is not readily available, he says.
He continues:
– It will be cruel for the United States with armed extremist groups of the left and right in the streets.
