Eirik Jensen Changes Lawyer – Eirik Jensen on Elden Shipwreck

[ad_1]

On Saturday night it emerged that former police officer Eirik Jensen had replaced his lawyer John Christian Elden with Sigurd Klomsæt.

– Eirik needs a lawyer who is genuinely committed. It cannot be the case that a customer does not feel seen / heard by their own advocate, Ragna Lise Vikre, Jensen’s cohabitant, wrote in an SMS to Dagbladet this weekend.

Here’s what Eirik Jensen says about the lawyer change:

– I support what Ragna said. I have felt like a small piece in a great game. I have felt that I am at the end of the queue and I have provided information that the lawyer rejects. It lasts a while, but not when the results are bad, he tells Dagbladet over the phone from Kongsvinger Prison.

– frustrating

Jensen says that Elden and his team of lawyers have had access to material that he says shows significant errors and flaws in the investigation, but has not been used by the lawyer.

– It was frustrating, says Jensen.

John Christian Elden tells Dagbladet that he is happy that there are new eyes on the case and a person who has more time than him.

– Jensen is a good man who deserves more contact than we have been able to do with just weekly contact after the verdict. I still don’t see that there is an evidence base for the complicity in drug importation verdict, and with an experienced attorney like his colleague Klomsæt, I hope he manages to clarify it well, Elden writes in an email to Dagbladet.

In a now-deleted Twitter post, attorney Brynjar Meling made the comparison of switching from a new Mercedes G-Class to “a 1973 Ford Taurus model that only runs on two cylinders, but makes a damn noise because of holes in the pot. and free escape ».

On Sunday, however, Meling denied Dagbladet that the tweet was about Klomsæt, Elden and Jensen. He also did not want to elaborate on why he has chosen to remove it, or comment on it in any other way.

Support Klomsæt

Eirik Jensen is among those who have noticed the Twitter message.

– To that I would say that being run over by a silent car is a terrible experience. I’d rather hear the car coming so I can jump to the side and have a good experience.

Dagbladet tried to get a comment from Brynjar Meling on Monday, but has received no response.

Sigurd Klomsæt is one of the lawyers in Norway who has succeeded in the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) most of the time. In 2012, he temporarily lost his legal license due to leaks in the July 22 case.

Eirik Jensen says that he recognizes himself in Sigurd Klomsæt.

– I’m like Klomsæt. He has bullet holes in his reputation. But he calls a sword by name, and it is used against him. I recognize myself in that. Sometimes you have to stand in the smoke from the gunpowder. Then people can evaluate it in their own way. I have been called non-traditional as a police investigator, but I have received results. Klomsæt has that too, says Jensen.

– It has been unconventional

Last year, Jensen was sentenced to 21 years in prison for blatant corruption and drug smuggling. He’s working to get the case resumed. Now it is Klomsæt who will help in this work.

– I know Eirik from the early 90s. He is a police officer who has experienced opposition and harassment on his way from jealous colleagues and others. Eirik has been unconventional, but was accepted by his superiors, Klomsæt tells Dagbladet.

He adds:

– The interrogations, and especially the “Ila conversations”, are already in the focus of my work with the complaints of EMD and the requests for reopening. The violation of the rule of law and human rights is part of the reason why the Commission reopened the Baneheia case. The violations are no less serious in the case and the attacks on Eirik Jensen, says Klomsæt, who for several years represented Baneheia’s convict Viggo Kristiansen, who has now resumed the case.
