In a solid interview with Vanity Fair, Princess Märtha Louise (49) and her boyfriend Durek Verrett (45) appear. There, the couple talk about the relationship, including the type of reactions they had to the relationship and what it was like to be away from each other during the confinement.
Towards the end of the interview, however, there is a completely unexpected reveal from Verrett.
He says he had made plans to propose to Märtha Louise during a trip to Hawaii in February this year, but due to Ari Behn’s sudden death on Christmas Eve, the Hawaii vacation was instead a time of pain and healing.

News of Verrett’s courtship plans comes shortly after he opened up about his relationship with the princess on the “Love Pattern” live podcast during Tara-Weekend at Vestlia Resort in Geilo.
– I cried like a child
Verrett revealed that he and Märtha Louise initially spoke for several hours on the phone, something that pointed out that he himself is not a huge fan. As they spent more time together and spoke more frequently on the phone, Verrett explained that he was giving the princess an ultimatum.
– I told Märtha that I cannot enter into this relationship until I meet her children, until I understand her children and get along with them. Because I think that when a man enters a relationship with a woman who has already had children, then you have to commit. You have to be there, not only for her, but also for the children, she said.
To this, Märtha, who was sitting in the hallway, replied that if her children did not understand Verrett, they would not be able to enter into a relationship. Thus, they came to the solution that Märtha Louise should take her children to Los Angeles and meet Verrett’s family.
And that’s when Verrett admitted that he fell in love with the princess.
– I looked at this wonderful woman and the way she loves her children, and in that moment I knew that I could love this woman. Because a woman who loves her children loves her community. And when he loves everyone in his community, I know he can love me, he continued.
