Finnmark police issued a press release Friday afternoon regarding the fatal accident in Alta on Tuesday night.
Nora Alvilde Tiberg, 10, and Ann Katrin Nilson, 49, were killed in the meeting accident.
– Preliminary results have not given any explanation as to what may have caused the accident, Sheriff Øyvind Lorentzen writes in the press release.
Police claim that only an initial questioning of the driver was conducted and he was sent to hospital.
– The police want to conduct an interrogation whenever possible. As mentioned above, a preliminary charge has been made in relation to the confiscation of the driving license. It is common to take a preliminary charge of this type when the consequences of the accident are so serious.

In addition, they write that they cannot delve into “the evaluations of the prosecution so early in the investigation” and affirm that “the additional investigation will clarify what has happened and if something criminal has happened.
– The investigation will go into a more analytical phase in the coming days where we will review the reports, interrogations and technical evidence that have arrived during the initial phase of the investigation. This may take time before we can come to a conclusion about the cause of the accident.
