The man, who is in his late teens, filmed the rough driving. He has now been sentenced to six months in prison and has been barred from driving for five years.
According to the verdict of the Jæren District Court, the man drove at least 230 km / h in a zone of 80 inside the Ryfylke tunnel. The bad driving happened this summer. The man had a passenger in the car and filmed the rough driving as it happened.
The rough ride was later shared with several on a Snapchat group.
In another case, the man was driving at a speed of 175 km / h in a zone of 90.
“The defendant has explained that he did not clearly think if he had control of the car in motion or if he was exposing others to danger, and that he was ‘hard on the accelerator’ and that he ‘got carried away’,” they say in the verdict.
The man gave an unreserved confession to all the charges when he appeared in court. However, a claim was made for five months in unconditional prison for the man. The prosecution confirmed this.
He is also deprived of his driver’s license for five years. You must reapply your driver’s license when this period ends.
The case was first mentioned in Stavanger Aftenblad.
“The court considers that the defendant, in addition to showing a lack of respect for speed rules, has also shown a total lack of respect for the life and health of fellow travelers and other road users,” says the sentence .
– It’s a very risky album. The prosecution notes that the court agreed with us that this was serious. That kind of driving is extremely dangerous and certainly not something you do, police lawyer Sveinung Andersen tells the Southwest Police District to VG.
– Regrets the action and take note of the verdict, says defender of man Håkon Pinderød Eliassen to VG.
