In a video about Twitter Donald Trump opens up about his experience of being infected with the coronavirus and the treatment he received. The president underwent an antibody treatment that has not yet been approved for public use. The treatment, called Regeneron’s experimental antibody therapy, was ordered by the president. He claims that treatment is the main reason he recovered so quickly, writes The Guardian.

– I feel wonderful. Everything is perfect. I think it is a gift from God that it infects me. It really was luck in misfortune. I got sick, had recently heard of this treatment and asked for it to be applied.Trump said in the video.

Make treatment available to people

Additionally, Trump promises to make the treatment available to the people. A few hours later, the company responsible for the treatment, Regeneron, submitted a new application to the FDA for approval of the treatment method. After the release of Trump’s video, the company’s shares rose 3.73 percent. Regeneron’s director, Leonard Schleifer, is a member of Trump’s golf club, and this is how the president is said to have found out about the treatment.

The president recently returned to the Oval Office after treatment at Walter Reed Military Hospital. At the same time, the outbreak continues to spread among employees. So far, 27 people among Trump employees have been confirmed infected, writes ABC News.

Violates health care guidelines

According to the CDC, Trump’s presence in the Oval Office violates its guidelines for the infected. According to health authorities, all people who have been confirmed infected should be isolated in a room separate from others. They should not move from room to room through hallways used by other people. For the president to be able to come and go from the office, this movement is necessary.

According to the White House, proper precautions are being taken. Among other things, very few are allowed into the office and everyone must wear full infection control equipment.

– We make sure it is safe and disinfect frequently. All communication with the president takes place at a safe distance, says White House press secretary Brian Morgenstern.

Donald Trump’s doctor, Sean Conley, adds that the president has been asymptomatic for 24 hours and that his oxygen level and respiratory rate have returned to normal.
