Following a major press conference at which the European Commission presented its plans and measures for future tourism on Wednesday, both SAS and Norwegian announced that they will introduce the use of mouthwash starting May 18.
Widerøe, on the other hand, does not follow the other two Norwegian players.
Follow Norwegian pollution advice
– For the time being, Widerøe will follow the advice that the Norwegian health authorities have given regarding infection control on board aircraft. These tips don’t include mouthwash, says Silje Brandvoll, director of communications and community relations.
The Aviation Protection Supervisor of the Institute of Public Health for Aviation does not recommend the use of mouthwash, but rather the distance between passengers in the form of vacant seats in the middle.
Awaiting conclusion
Brandvoll further states that they are also considering introducing mouthwashes.
– We await the conclusion of the European Aviation Authority EASA, says Brandvoll.
