Sylvi Listhaug sharpens the knives before budget negotiations with the government, but rejects that the Progress Party begins negotiations with an ultimatum.
“Listhaug with ultimatum,” TV 2 reported Tuesday night. According to the channel, the deputy leader of the FRP threatens a budget crisis if the government parties do not agree to reduce the number of refugees from the quota to less than 3,000.
– It is completely irrelevant that the Progress Party is part of it, so here it is only a matter of cutting the number if you want to reach an agreement with us, Listhaug tells TV 2.
But a few minutes after NTB broke the news, Listhaug calls to explain that the words “ultimatum” and “budget crisis” were never used in the interview.
– It has been taken out of all proportions, Listhaug tells NTB.
– We do not start the budget negotiations with an ultimatum.
According to Listhaug, Frp enters the negotiations with several main demands. The cut in the number of refugees from the quota is one. Help cuts another. At the same time, the FRP wants the burden of tolls to be lowered, road allocations to increase, more money for retirees and sickness tax cuts and to combat cross-border trade.
KrF leader and Minister for Children and Families Kjell Ingolf Ropstad previously announced that the 3,000 refugee quota level will continue in the budget proposal for 2021.
The budget proposal will be presented on Wednesday morning at 10 am.
