It is to the delight of many, and to the inconvenience of others, the snow that fell in large quantities over the weekend.

Now all lovers of snow and cold can have fun. January seems to stay cool and snowy.

– January will be a cold month, says Geir Ottar Fagerlid, a state meteorologist at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute.

First grades plus

The next few days can be filled with snow, he reports. Starting Wednesday morning, the weather will calm down, before there is even more rainfall over the weekend.

– Low pressure is pushing for the weekend. So it can be two to three degrees or more in the lowlands, says Fagerlid.

But that does not mean rain and snow disappears.

– There should be no danger of the snow disappearing. Rather, it looks like the snow is going to last a long time, says Fagerlid.

The cold is returning

After the warmer degrees this weekend, the forecast shows that it will be colder again next week.

And the state meteorologist Fagerlid doesn’t care.

– For my part, the snow can stay until Easter, he says.
