The reason is that the room will be washed because three asbestos dust finds have been made within the room itself.

– We know it is asbestos in Haukelandshallen, but the problem is the release of asbestos fibers. The discovery is not considered to pose a health risk to those left in the hallway, so we are not closing today, says director Christian Fossdal of the Bergen municipality building and real estate agency.

Idrettsservice states that, as an immediate measure in relation to the removal of asbestos, lanes 1 to 3 must be closed to all activity from tomorrow, September 30.

The lobby, corridors and meeting rooms will not be affected by the closure.

– So it’s fall holidays, we don’t have games before the room reopens.

That’s what the coach of the 13-year-old Årstad boys says, says Morten Nøddebo. I have usually done three workouts a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

– We lose two training sessions, but it’s going well.

Son and player Ulrik Nøddebo (13) agrees.

They had not yet been notified about the asbestos dust.
