The Swedish government warns that the development of the infection in the country is going the wrong way. At the same time, counties are warning that both individuals and businesses are looking for loopholes in the new Swedish covid-19 law.

At a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven (S) announced that the existing restrictions in Sweden will be extended until April 18.

– I’ll ask for a real effort again. The spread of the infection is at too high a level and is sadly increasing in many parts of the country. The pressure on hospitals is great and therefore it is important that we have a little more resistance. That we take responsibility for hospitals, that we take responsibility for our fellow human beings and, of course, for ourselves, says Löfven.

– Development is going the wrong way, adds Health Minister Lena Hallengren (S).

She hopes that Easter is not a time for the spread of the infection.

– This means a limited and unusual Easter. There should be no big celebrations.

At the same time, for the second week in a row, Swedish counties are seeking advice that both the Swedish middle and businesses are trying to circumvent the crown’s measures.

Sweden is divided into counties, which correspond to the Norwegian counties.

Counties have been tasked with conducting inspections to ensure compliance with Sweden’s temporary covid-19 law.

Together, the pandemic inspectorates also publish weekly reports on the situation in the regions.

“One conclusion from this week’s national picture of pandemic inspections by county administrative boards is that a significant portion of the public is failing to fulfill their responsibility under the Infection Control Act,” writes the Pandemic Inspectorate in your website.

– Will organize parties

In early January, the Swedish parliament passed a new anti-pandemic law and the country has tightened its grip on what it did previously in the pandemic.

Among other things, it is now prohibited to have more than eight people in public gatherings and public events.

A bar stop has also been introduced at 20, and a maximum of four people can sit at the same table in restaurants.

County administrative boards write that they receive a lot of questions from individuals about how they can organize, for example, student weddings and parties without being detained by the covid-19 law.

In this week’s report, they also highlight a sand restaurant in Västmanland, which expanded the dining room to include most of the spectator seating in the arena, to avoid a match being considered a public event.

However, both the county administrative board and the police considered the match to be a public event.

– We see that the trend continues, and we receive more and more reports that both the general public and companies are trying to find ways to circumvent the legislation, which is very worrying, says the national coordinator for the supervision of pandemics of the counties, Anna Carlsson.

County administrative boards write that the inspections have a good effect, but that more clear measures are needed to avoid congestion at large grocery stores.

Sweden is in its third wave of infection and the infection is increasing.

At a news conference Tuesday, state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell warned of growing fatigue of the measures among fraternal people.

Tegnell said that more and more people are ignoring the restrictions and that many, for example, have started to return to their workplaces, or are ignoring the call to act alone, writes TT.

“Most of the explanation has to do with what we call pandemic fatigue, which is no longer following the restrictions as well as it could wish for,” Tegnell told Dagens Nyheter about the increased spread of the infection.

Tegnell also points out that the most contagious and dangerous English mutant virus now dominates in most Swedish regions.

Nationwide in Sweden now 634 pr. 100,000 residents tested positive in the last 14 days.

In Norway, the number is the same 236.5.

– April will also be difficult

Sweden has been the hardest hit by the pandemic in the Nordic region and is the Nordic country that has had by far the highest number of infections and the highest death toll.

When the TT news agency yesterday asked state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell if April appears to be such a difficult month that no relief can be counted on, he replied:

– Yes, this is exactly what it looks like now. There are no signs that this has changed. Therefore, we can expect that April will also be a difficult month.

– Light signals

Prime Minister Lövfen still sees the light at the end of the tunnel.

– Thanks to vaccines, now there are light signals. As more and more of the oldest and most frail have been vaccinated against COVID-19, the death toll is also dropping, Löfven said at Wednesday’s press conference.
