On Wednesday, it became clear that Aalesund identified the supporter who made racist comments against Amahl Pellegrino after Sunday’s match between AaFK and Kristiansund at the Color Line Stadium.

The fan is prohibited from entering the Color Line Stadium until the 2021 season.

– At Aalesund Football Club we have taken the matter very seriously. We do not want opponents, our players, spectators or others to experience racism at the Color Line Stadium or in other arenas, club director Geir S. Vik said in a press release Wednesday.

Pellegrino himself quickly reacted to the penalty:

– Then the list is ready, okay. One step forward, nine back, he wrote on Twitter, clearly dissatisfied.

Several others have also reacted to the punishment the supporter has received. Many believe that the culprit escapes for very little money.

– Mild terrifying

“The punishment for racism is terribly light,” writes VG commentator Leif Welhaven.

“As far as football and racism are concerned, of course, attitude work is important, but at the same time it does not escape the fact that it is necessary to act when crossing borders that are not going to be crossed. And here, sadly, Aalesund has been strangely kind to one of his own, ”continues the commentator.

Ferencváros’ professional and Pellegrino’s friend Tokmac Nguen are very critical.

“How can we fight together against racism when this is the result of calling ourselves monkeys? From 2021? In a year we will be able to hear your voice again in the stadium? What is the basis of the punishment? the beautiful campaigns against racism have been pure rubbish after that punishment here !! », he writes. Twitter.

“Here it must be possible to take a suitable position to get rid of the dirt. With only 200 in the stands, it should be a narrow affair to seize the guilty, where the punishment must be so severe that the message is clear; this is not tolerated.” , writes Pål André Helland from Rosenborg.

Followed by a clear message to Pellegrino:

– We are after you, Amahl.

Ask for common regulations

Club director Vik says Aalesund has taken care to handle the matter quickly, for Pellegrino’s sake and because it is important to the club and the fans.

– Pellegrino was exposed to racism, something from which we strongly dissociate ourselves.

– Regarding the sanction we have imposed, we have made an assessment after consulting and discussing with various media in our environment, and based on the regulations of our stadium.

Vik points out that even though soccer and sports in general have many attitude campaigns, they have few common regulations or guidelines when it comes to penalties.

He believes this case shows that there is a need for a common set of rules.

– We see in this case that it may make sense for Norwegian football and sports to take a closer look at how together we can have a similar set of rules to relate to also when it comes to sanctions, so that clubs handle these cases more or less in the same way and with experience. fair and just for the offended.

– Who can handle this?

– It can be the Norwegian Football Association (NFF), the Norwegian Higher Football Federation (NTF) and the Norwegian Sports Association. I am concerned that we will learn from the case. Good learning should come from there, so that we are better equipped the next time we happen. We cannot guarantee it. So we should have the same regulations and guidelines to adhere to, says Vik.

Post a new video

Wednesday afternoon Pellegrino posted a sound clip on his Twitter account.

“The sound of racism from more than ONE person!”, Writes Pellegrino.

The Kristiansund player claims that several arrived with racist shouts against him.

Former soccer profile Vadim Demidov is among those who react.

“Scary. Thanks for sharing, @AmahlPellegrino. Now don’t step foot in a soccer stadium again,” Demidov writes. Twitter.

The message was tweeted, among others, by Aalesund player Jonas Grønner.

“We do NOT accept racism in our stands. We hope everyone in football takes responsibility for clarifying this. We expect strong reactions when this happens. If you hear anything, you must have the courage to speak up. The football family should have room for everyone. Without exceptions!”, writes Norwegian Supporter Alliance (NSA).

The club’s director, Vik, cannot rule out more people being punished. He says Aalesund is still working on Sunday’s event.

– We want to get to the bottom of the matter as a club. It will also benefit our fans and Norwegian football. We use our methods based on the available tools we have in relation to the match, says Vik.

– We have invested a huge amount of resources in this, because that is not how we can have it, says Vik.
