– This is information we cannot comment on. But this is serious and has a high priority for us. We implement a series of measures. Among other things, we have asked all employees to change their passwords.

On Monday, Hurtigruten was the target of cyber attacks, affecting both the website and the email system.

– Demanding threat image

The university works closely with authorities and Uninett to obtain an overview of the course of events and the potential extent of the damage.

As a result of the theft, UiT has implemented several measures to reduce the risk and limit the damage.

– The Norwegian authorities, including the Storting, and various knowledge institutions have suffered data breaches in the last year. The threat landscape is demanding and, like everyone in the public and private sector, we conduct ongoing risk assessments and implement the necessary measures to strengthen IT security, says Fossland.
