Such bicycle sabotage is not new, but Oslo Bicycle Workshop says that this year it really has reached its peak:

– Those who do this probably see it as innocent jokes, but it can be life-threatening if a wheel loosens at high speed or when you have to brake abruptly and the brakes don’t work, says bicycle mechanic Lars Håkon Slette.

– We have registered several finger fractures, possible concussions and jaw fractures as a result of bicycle sabotage. But there are small margins that are needed to make the consequences much more dire, Viken tells NRK.
